Don't blame Bruce LeeRoy, blame the mods and admins.  There the ones who have encouraged these overdone OPs.  I like GAF, for the most part, but the impartially of the site bothers me.  I can understand that there will always be a natural bias.  This place skews 360, for example, but why do only PS3 exclusives--MGS4 and R2--get this official thread treatment.  Give it to all the big releases.

The way it seems to me is that the people who get assigned the official threads just seem to be more dedicated. For one, I know that brandonh83 was supposed to get the MGS4 thread originally but he gave it up to Bruce LeeRoy after he PMed him what his OP looked like, so he gave it up because it was such an extravaganza.

Honestly if every game got such an awesome OP for an official thread it would be amazing.

The backlash is mounting against those advertisement-official threads.  I'm sure someone is getting paid for it since GAF provides enough exposure to where a few hundred copies may be sold just from the hype alone.  Eventually they will start backfiring.  Mods will try to ban as many as possible but soon they will start banning quality members, creating a backlash in and of itself.

In the end, its EviLore's forum so he can do whatever he wants with it.  I could envision a GAF two or three years from now that is nothing but shills and virals, with everyone with an independent opinion banned or driven to the OT.
