GAF lingo that needs to be abolished:
- Discussion of the Wii as a serious platform. This has the tendency to make people make dumb comparisons that are laughable to anyone but Nintendo fans. Comparing any Wii effort, especially graphics, to the 360 or PS3 is mind numbingly stupid. It also lead the conclusion that Wii Music is ultrarevolutionary; so amazing that it would require more than one Blu Ray disc if they used anything other than cheap sounding MIDI.
- Using cutesy in-jokes, especially if you're not in on it. Some 25 year old virgin listens to a Podcast and thinks something is funny. He will then sprinkle it in several posts and refers to the Podcasters by their first name, as if they knew them personally (when the reality is that he has no friends) It happened a lot more in the past so I guess this is an improvement but my guess is that it is purely coincidental since a lot of Podcasts have stopped.
- Playing Hall Monitor. If someone makes a bad joke, not everyone has to immediately start bitching and whining. If it the target is on the shit list, it is ok to bash and call them whatever they want. If it isn't though, oh watch out. Half the page will be devoted to "Wow...just wow" and "omg, y r u not banned." I'm sure a mod saw it too and will deal with it as such. GAF is chock full of these chicken littles.
I guess this was a bitching about GAF post. Oh well
