If there was ever a game that NEEDS a proper hands on demonstration guided by people who know what they're doing, it's Wii Music. Being part of a series famous for its accessibility, some folks might be in for a shock when they encounter Wii Music.It wasn't until I actually got my hands on Wii Music for an hour or so that I was totally sold on it, and it has held up to become one of my GOTY picks. It takes time and a little familiarity to understand how to get the results you want, and to understand the purpose of the title. That purpose isn't something everyone will enjoy or appreciate, but for those who do, there are hours upon hours of groundbreaking fun to be had.The sour hype going into the game was misleading, as were many of the reviews. Watching a guy shit up the Zelda theme doesn't really help convey the potential enjoyment a gamer might get out of the Wii Music experience. Actually having someone hold your hand through the process, learning the instruments and seeing the vast amount of potential and variety lying under the surface, just might.

Played Wii Music for almost 10 hours non-stop yesterday. The drum mode is xxxxing brilliant! I've spent many QUALITY hours arranging "twinke twinkle" alone. I haven't even tried other songs yet. Nevertheless, at two o'clock last night I got something very nice out of the electric bass, the timing and the length of the notes is very important, after a while you get to remember some of what the pre-programmed notes are and you start to combine and play them in your own personal way. Many of the samples used in the instruments are just crap, at least to my tastes. There's still enough variety to find something you like, at least for me.It really is a different take on the MUSIC and rhythm genre. Excellent first impressions, and for me, worth it for the amazing drum mode alone. You will need a balance board. You really can FEEL the music when you have a clear idea in your head and proceed to recording it. I've spent most of my recording time with my eyes closed with all sorts of funny faces trying to keep the patterns and nail the timingAhhh, so much to say, but now it's time to finish up at work and get ready for another gigantic session!
