The fact that her stupidity is left to run rampant and is almost single-handedly ruining GAF just shows the lack of leadership and piss-poor job that Evilore is doing managing the moderators.  Like I said in the Dyack thread a while back (and got banned for), he doesn't appear to be cut out for what is essentially a management position.  I also think that he should be more transparent regarding the business side of GAF, especially since it's based solely on the backs of the users.

Serious questions - how in the hell are the NeoGAF mods chosen?  After they're chosen, how often do they have contact with the admins?  Are moderation standards discussed at all?  The "banning" standards so widely vary from mod to mod and they're so inconsistent with the actual Terms of Service that it seems hard to imagine that there's any kind of guiding force leading the way.

I was banned in the Dyack thread for not thinking Evil's "amazing charity bet" was anything other than complete bullshit, so hey.

it's pretty obvious that Evilore isn't fit for the comercial management role as the inability to process other peoples opinions is a pretty shocking fault, hence why GAF is treat like a golden goose because, as i say, if people have to get a real job i'm not sure "mod/owner on GAF" is worth anything beyond a few lols/hoots and the skill set required to pull off the job is basically "general gobshite" so... there we go.

it's their zoo though, let them run it into the ground. People of note are leaving by the boat load, so i'm sure GAF's viability as an advertising avenue will exposed pretty quickly in times of fiscal prudence.

It's a shame because GAF could be so good with the right management and it's such a great news aggregator that I never have to go to the blogs.  Oh well, I guess we're all turning into "it was better back in my day" old farts as we get into our 30s and the Playstation generation takes over.

I got a 6 month ban for saying PC gaming is more expensive than console gaming and some mod interpreted it as trolling PC gaming and talking about "$10,000 PC's" and all this bullshit. When in reality I'd just built a new gaming PC. Oh well. I guess I got permabanned because I was logged in my younger brothers account so I could see the online forum. He'd moved out of my house so I figured what the hell. Plus I'd sent EvilLore a PM from it right after I was banned on my name asking WTF so I didn't think they'd mind. I thought they'd permaban me right then but didn't. Surprised I lasted there as long as I did. I remember cussing out some dude in an NBA thread and telling him to stop backseat modding, not knowing his colored name meant he was actually a mod 

I don't think there are any mod standards. But to their defense, that seems to be the case with a lot of big forums on the internet. Some people are just naturally going to be more touchy about certain subjects than others.
