Someone should just make a "normal' official thread for Killzone 2 before the insanity starts. Just throw in some screenshots, the needed info, probably a banner too since thats the new norm at gaf, and then just post it 2 weeks before release (the unofficial start period for official threads I believe). What could anyone do then? It couldn't be called out as a joke threads like the others since obvious effort was put into it and yet it also prevents the 40-post OP insanity thats bound to happen.

Eh, I disagree. It just needs a completely revamped moderation team. GAF's userbase has doubled in nearly two years, and the staff hasn't grown to compensate for that. It doesn't help that their activity goes in cycles; sometimes they're rather active and crack down on the forum riff-raff, other times they're complacent and most of the bans you see are for women-related jokes.

But there needs to be more moderators there. Right now there's over 1100 members online and only 4 mods. Sure there may be one or two "hidden" mods on there, but it's still a ridiculously low amount.

even with more mods, they're are too many idiots there to even justify the cleansing. Right now it's basically a situation where you're either in love with something or you hate it without any middle ground. It's worse because anything positive you say about a game gets you attacked for being a shill, while anything negative gets you attacked for being a troll. I remember once I said that MGS4 had bad slowdown at parts, which is a completely factual statement, and I was attacked for being a troll. It's just ridiculous over there. It's easier to just scope out the good ones and invite them here or something if you really want 'gaf' saved.

Gaf has become a place fool of tools, where every single thread in the gaming side is rampant with stupidity, and system wars. Seriously, i remember when people used to complain about system wars over there, like a year ago, but now? Goddamn son, every thread, and the problem is, even though the discussion is shit, the mods always manage to weed out the precious few that embarrass those distinguished mentally-challenged fellows, banning them. And the distinguished mentally-challenged fellows stay. That's the funny part, the distinguished mentally-challenged fellows are rarely banned.

I guess there's some sort of "don't make fun of my children" kind of shit going on in there by the mods, it's pretty weird.

Anyway, it is the place that it is. Stop caring so much about it, and just avoid the gaming side, because in all honestly? It's bad for your health, you become a passive distinguished mentally-challenged fellow.

They should just use a different system of banning altogether, like the one on SA: "probations" from posting privileges that just last between 1-10 days. If you're actually banned, you have to send an unban request to learn how long it will be, what you need to do to stop being a shit poster, and go through a reregistration process.

Giving three-week-long bans for things like accidental hotlinking or laughing at an off-color joke is crazy. Just give them a day-long "time out" for something like that, it gets the point across just as well.

The guy is portuguese man, that's what pisses me off, there was this one time where he told me to go fuck myself through a P.M in portuguese. Motherfucker. I've seen dudes like him in real life before, fucking sickening, heck sometimes i see some jackass start talking about Playstation and i wonder if the dude ain't MetalMurphy.
