That what all South Asians get paid in gulf region, it's not just Dubai.

Construction workers, maids, and drivers earn around $10 a day if they're Indonesians, $8 if they're Filipinos, and $5 if they're Indians.

And they get shat on without ever complaining, some of them don't get days off. It's fucking inhumane, but it's they governments' fault for allowing it.

The Emirati, for the most part, are scum living off the labor of Asians and Westerners. The Emirati don't even make up a majority of the people in the United Arab Emirates.

From what I understand, the Emirati are not even expected to work, and they receive substantial Alaskan-type welfare cheques. As a result, those who don't work--or even attempt to find work--receive substantially more than, for example, Indian laborers busily constructing Dubai's gaudy skyscrapers in the 110 degree heat.

Any good articles on Las Vegas getting Dubai'd? The situation is somewhat similar with the hubrus and ridiculous growth and all, but then again, America does need a designated playpen, so it should survive in some shape or form, unlike Dubai which has the potential for post-apocalyptic awesomeness.

Las Vegas is America's sin bin. It will survive, even if there are long bread lines in several parts of the country. Dubai is thousands of miles away, typically accessible only to oil/gas executives, Halliburton, and the slaves that erect the buildings.
