I have more disposable income than ever but I've been very discriminatory on my purchases. Fortunately that means almost no bad purchases (Sonic Unleashed is my only bad one and even then, it isn't a bad game).

My disposable income goes towards chiseling away at my debts. Video games can wait.

So as far as I"m concerned 2008 was kind of a bleh year for games, most of the stuff I wanted to play either came out at the start of the year(gta4,mgs4,ninja gaiden 2,ninja gaiden DS) or they were ports/remakes/sequels of older classic games(chrono trigger, megaman 9,castlevania order of ecclessia). That's why I said that the differences in audio quality compression is largely overrated when only mainstream equipment is being used.

Better speakers would easily improve sound quality more than going from regular DD/DTS to uncompressed PCM.
