A lot of good posters who did post here went back to GAF (DCharlie, Groo, Y2Kev, etc.)

This place isn't exactly the epitome of discussion a lot of you make it out to be. Not that I'm helping that cause in any constructive way. But, mostly with the mention of allstairw, that got me thinking to how y2kev, chespace, and others eventually just stop posting here. I see white man post on gaf occasionally too. This place is more guilty of hivemind mentality and egocentric arguments with no respect for someone's preferences. When you have bore posters proud of the fact that you can resort to ad hominem attacks and other such asinine attitudes its very presumptious to think anyone would prefer this forum. I have my qualms with Neogaf, but there isn't much of a good alternative besides the somethingawful forums. But like pilonv1 said, it can be overwhelming.

The "I'm busy" excuse is kind of like "It's not you, it's me."

I agree with you (!!!) that in spite of inviting many quality posters, they post for a little while, and then find their way back to GAF. Then people offer excuses (Oh, he's just busy and only has time to post on one forum. He will come back, you'll see!) but they never come back, save for a few days here and there, and then go right back.

EB at this point isn't the exclusive club a lot of people here believe. Most people who have spent a few hours in the OT know about the board. The Borecast is the best part of the site TBH and you can keep up with that on GAF.

Just my opinion.

This forum has way better discussion about select games, even if not every game is covered. As for any "attacks", I don't get why someone would take these things personally; to me it seems like everyone is just joking around. I mean, at worst, the only thing you would be getting offended at is someone on the internet who knows you from opinions about video games. Doesn't really make sense. I still use gaf for news, questions and occasional discussion topics. There are benefits to having a large user base sometimes.

As for why a bunch of posters left, I dunno, that's their choice. It's a shame. Not to make too many presumptions, maybe they like having a large audience to read whatever they write about.

Be sure to pick up Spider. It's puzzle/platformer game with controls that work (you'll find that a lot of iphone/ipod touch games rely on touch screen buttons that don't always work.)

I have a 1st gen iPod Touch still and it's still getting me by. It's annoying that it doesn't have a speaker, but it isn't too big a deal. I'm waiting for a future iphone that has a long battery life.
