Because Twilight is a shitty series, and this new movie has gotten pretty much panned everywhere. It's just sad that a movie like that could become even more successful than a reasonably well-made film like TDK.
Poor TDK really doesn't get enough respect and fawning praise. Kinda sad that it'll never go above cult classic status. Heath Ledger was the greatest actor, no, the greatest artist of all time.
I'm not saying that, at all. But come on, don't deny that Dark Knight was a well-made film, despite some of its obvious flaws that have already been pointed out here before. When a movie like Twilight or Transformers succeeds, what does that say to the movie execs ok-ing all these films? MORE SHITTY MOVIES!!
I'm really not angry because I hardly give a fuck, but it's just sad that the American public responds more to awful filmmaking because it has dazzle (whether it be a dude fucking shining or two CG robots buttfucking each other into submission).
Although, TDK still did incredibly well and it's not like it did poorly compared to New Moon. It's still the, what, second top-grossing film ever? Yeah, the nerdling rage over this is pretty dumb in that case then. Carry on.
