Canada is too cold.

For March/April/May, the best place to visit is North Carolina. For instance, the past couple of days it's been low 70's for a high, dry, comfortably warm breeze, and crystal blue skies. I can't wait to get up to the mountains in a couple of weeks

It takes me like 75 minutes to get to downtown San Diego, and Mexico is like 30 feet away from San Diego. Granted, I live in extensively southern OC.

Depends on the traffic. You can go from Orange to LA in 30 mins with no traffic. With traffic, it can be 2hrs or worse.

Norcal isn't at all like that. we have much more latino culture than hippy culture. there are a very, very small number of hippies in some SF area cities and these are the types of people that go live in the trees in Berkeley parks. it's hilarious because you could go right up to them and argue with them until the city decided to build a wall around the park to starve them out. as for macs, I've lived a couple hundred yards from the apple campus and the clear majority of all "computer savvy" people prefer windows.

btw, don't live in the san jose area. it's the ass of norcal. Go to SF, Berkeley, or Oakland. so much funner.

Spending money is fun and there's no better place for that than South Coast. Also, the best restaurant within 20 miles is probably Ruth's Chris. I went to one of those pricey steak/seafood restaurants near South Coast and it was a big mistake. Paid 60 bucks or so for some tiny portions of mediocre seafood. Guess there's why you don't eat around a mall even if it's like an indoor Rodeo Drive.

I agree with you but Costa Mesa isn't the best area for ethnic foods. For example, the Japanese restaurants in that area are terrible.
