Rudy Giuliani who is ahead of McCain by a whopping 25+ points and is increasing his lead nearly daily(Hillary is only ahead a little over 10 points compared to Obama) tells conservative voters to not mind his pro-choice, pro-gay rights stances(of which he is trying to distance himself from currently) because he is a strict constructionist in terms of judicial philsophy.

If you don't know strict constructionist essentially means pro-life republicans. Judges like Scalia, Alito, and Thomas. So Rudy is saying "Don't mind MY views on abortion because I appoint strict constructionists!" Which in itself is a stretch, being a strict contructionist AND pro-choice is extremely, extremely, rare.

This was a quote of his recently:
Quote
"I would want judges who are strict constructionists because I am," he told South Carolina Republicans last month. "Those are the kinds of justices I would appoint -- Scalia, Alito and Roberts."

Wonderful, but wait the politico had something rather interesting to say:
Quote
A Politico review of the 75 judges Giuliani appointed to three of New York state's lower courts found that Democrats outnumbered Republicans by more than 8 to 1. One of his appointments was an officer of the International Association of Lesbian and Gay Judges. Another ruled that the state law PLUTOING liquor sales on Sundays was unconstitutional because it was insufficiently secular.

And it isn't some Ahnuld like tactic to appease the public he was serving to keep his job, NYC tends to lean republican in its mayor's and Rudy never faced a serious threat of losing a re-election bid. He could have appointed strict contructionlsits all he wanted to, but he almost never did.

Rudy = flip-flopper total.

Republicans destroyed Kerry on that regard yet McCain and Rudy are changing their mind on every issue possible.

Yet Hillary Clinton is currently getting bashed by democrats for NOT changing her mind on Iraq and she refuses to because she doesn't want to be seen as a flip-flopper :lol

Kerry's ship was sunk by swiftboaters, not flip flopper rhetoric.  Nobody took that seriously, it was just a buzz word.  And Kerry's problem was that he was poor at defending himself.

Every politician changes their stance to cater to constituents and lobbyists all the time.  It's just a matter of presenting yourself as firm to the voting public, and having the balls to defend yourself.

Hilary Clinton is just stupid.

If Rudy is elected I wonder if he would revert back to his NYC days and appoint liberals. The Republican party would fall apart. Stand by our leader or fight his liberal appointments?

Guiliani has to lean conservative because he's going national, so I highly doubt that'll be the case.

Even after he is elected? His 10 years in office in NYC shows him to be why yes a economic conservative and big time pro-Iraq War, on judicial issues, gay rights issues, enviromental issues, gun issues, and abortion issues he leans liberal.

If he is in office why would he still have to appeal to the right wing base? He wouldn't "need" them anymore since his views would be fine with independents for the most part.
