It's a good deal, but I know the video card upgrade might be a little costly. When I get a decent job and pay off some bills, I will likely invest in a laptop. It's the way to go nowadays, especially if ASUS' external video card docking station thing lives up to the hype (it got rave reviews when it debut).

video card upgrade is $250, which I'm cool with -- I'm getting this deal by turning in like 10 zillion Rewards points at Best Buy and they didn't have the upgrade. I'll order it online next month!

I made brownies at 2AM a while ago. They are easy and the fiance wanted a snack while playing WoW.

Turion's get totally rolled by the mobile Core 2 Duos, but it should play games just fine with a 7600. That being said, I bet it's the bees knees for battery life if you use the AMD software to underclock that thing. All the performance in the world doesn't mean anything if the battery gets chewed in less than an hour.

it's a decent deal. not as good a deal as the original HoboBook Pro (tm me, a Compaq Sempron 3300+ w/ a 128MB X300 and a gig of RAM for $579, purchased last year), but i'm diggin' it.

it's modular on most nForce Go mobos. It's a bitch to install -- I'll hafta field strip the whole thing -- but there's no soldering or anything required. It just snaps into the PCI-X mobile slot; unfortunately, it also usually involves disassembling the whole kit. Fortunately, I've done this a billion times before. If there's one thing I'm really hot shit at these days, it's PC/laptop rebuilding/repair. :'(

might not even need a screwdriver, but yeah: there should be a panel on the bottom. open it -- the RAM should be tiered and easy to remove/install.

Thats awesome then. The taking apart of the laptop itself sounds like a pain though. I've done it with a few dells but theres way to many small screws in awkward places ;_;
