I am just curious as to guys opinions of nerd girls. This forum has a few of them myself included. What is the male perspective on the phenomenon known as nerd girls. And for girls here... how nerdy are you?

Never met any, although I've seen them. I can imagine they're pretty awesome though, and down to earth since they obviously aren't too concerned about "being cool" and shit like that.

They are average to attractive girls who are not knockout hot, but raise themselves up on the food chain by taking on guy interests. They normally have major mental issues, often father abondenment. and play look-but-don't-touch.  They seek attention without the guts to do anything about it. The way I see it they're kind of like girls who are in to sports.

If you find one who is about the same level as you and doesn't make a big deal out of it or flaunt it, then it's cool.

If you find someone who is more so about it than you are, then it's just like a guy. You probably won't want to spend too much time with them.

I think there are a lot of girls who try way to hard with the whole nerd thing, but completely miss the mark. Especially considering the enrollment of computer science and electrical engineering courses (100 smelly Indian men ftl). I'll add to the notion that many of them are not right in the head for a variety of the reasons mentioned above.

Also lame are women who claim to want a "nerdy/geeky" guy when they really want semi ironic hipsters who wouldn't know an Adder from a Register.

My ex was a nerd girl, ironically enough she was more nerdy than me (this girl was hardcore into RPGs, watched Star Wars, read all the Hitchhikers books, loved Harry Potter, all those sci-fi and fantasy books/movies, etc) and it really got on my nerves that she had a nice body but dressed like shit and never made the effort to fix herself up and look nice. I really wanted her to style her hair better, or dress nicer (she dressed like a soccer mom), or put on a bit of makeup or something because she had all this potential she never capitalized on; when I told her this, she would say "but I get guys the way I am, so I don't need to make the effort".

I don't really know many girls who are all out nerdy though, but I prefer girls with at least one esoteric interest or something that makes them unique, over the waves of dull, shallow girls who have no interests beyond Billy Joel, Grey's Anatomy, "dive bars", and the Yankees (aka 1/2 of the Long Island 20-30 year old female population).
