More bang, and boom and awesomness. It also has MacGyver, they don't openly state it in the show but I like to think that after the MacGyver series the government chose him for the SG1 program.

Where in Star Trek you've got the over analytical stuff, talking about shit and stuff....*snore* boooring. It can be cool sometimes though. Jean Luc Picard is the shit.

I have 9 seasons of SG-1 on DVD and soon 2 seasons of Atlantis, and SG-1 is finishing its final 10th season this year! Atlantis is still going strong! OMG ULTIMATE GOODBYE STAR WREK

That being said, the later seasons of DS9 were magnificent, and Voyager had a few good eps (Year of Hell and Series Finale)

TNG aged badly.

The one good thing Abrams is doing is retconning TNG and beyond and making the trek canon Kirk/Spock/McCoy ONLY again.

The fact Voyager, TNG, DS9, and Enterprise no longer exist in the official star trek universe pleases me to no end.

It very well may suck I am just saying I am fucking glad in terms of "canon" and the "universe" everything without kirk and spock has been wiped away and the franchise will focus on those characters only again.
