Well you sit around thinking about how your life is a big giant waste. I've had mine since I was 12.

I had one of those crazy quarter life ones, but it wasnt that bad really. Just had to pick a direction. Also its harder to have a mid-life crisis if you dont care what people think about you.

Mid-life criseses are for people that didn't "live" in their late teens, early 20's.

At some point, when they reach that mythical "American Dream" they have been chasing all those years, they realize that it's not quite what they expected or even wanted. So, they try to recapture what they missed out on ... or what they perceive they missed out on. It's sad to see.

Everyone is different .. but your early 20's are truely your golden years. You have unlimited freedoms, low expectations and zero responsibility (assuming you have no kids). Go out and LIVE. You will never have this time in your life again (Not until you are 65).

If I would have died at the age of 24, I would have had no regrets. Had a great life, great parents and plenty of friends and memories ... everything after that has just been a bonus. So really, my focus now is just creating an atmosphere for my kids like the one I enjoyed as a child. It didn't involve alot of money or gifts .. just attentive parents that stayed together and encouraged me in everything I did, no matter how crazy it was.

I had a quarter-life crisis at the end of college. I did enough dumb shit as a teen and tween that I'm pretty sure it's not only out of my system but polluting history's septic tank. I can't imagine having a mid-life crisis.

That is unless you don't get married and have kids

None for me, because I still spend my life trying to avoid any and all responsibilities like I was still 17. So maybe my life has been one prolonged mid-life crisis, come to think of it.

In my 30's, I've done the things I used to do in my 20's  ... it's not the same. The neurotransmitters just don't produce the same serotonin rush and the newly acquired, cynical voice in your head is there to remind you.

I don't think I'll EVER be able to top my 18th year / freshman year of college, that and prom weekend were the best times of my life.  But I'm not even 21 yet so :lol.

Im in the situation TA is talking about in the 30s (I'm 31 OMG), where I haven't moved on from experiencing the freedom of my 20s, but have wrenched dry all the joy and fulfillment I could possibly gain from the lifestyle I've been living.  So the crisis is beginning to transform into, is this who I am, who I will be for now on?  Which is silly and self-defeating/self-fulfilling, but that's just where I'm at and I need to get over it.
