At my old school the janitor in the building I hung out in most way gay. I remember early on that people would laugh at him and ignore him, so one day I just went up to him and said hi. After that everytime I saw him I'd say hey, or ask him how he was doing. We never stopped and had some big chat, but I just wanted to make sure that he knew that at least someone was going to talk to him.
It was as if none of his co-workers would talk to him; I saw him talking to some of the female secretaries, but none of the other sanitation people would say anything to him. The funny thing is that I'd always hear them having political discussions, and they sounded pretty liberal, but it seemed like they ignored him like everyone else.
Everynow and then I wonder if any students talk to him now that I don't go there anymore
