The Sands of Time had some great platforming and evading through traps, it was one of the first 3D platformer games that I truly enjoyed that flowed as smoothly as some of the 2D greats... but the fighting was absolutely abysmal and everything seemed to go in bullet time which made things even slower and more painful. I had to suffer through the fights (the elevator scene where you had to protect Farah from dying was the bottom of the barrel) for more glorious platforming. Its a shame the series didn't improve on this aspect in its sequels from what I hear.
