Hmm, that depends. "Good Life" by Inner City is arguably techno. It's a classic song from Kevin Saunderson (one of the founders of the Detroit techno scene), and the song is kinda poppy but definitely grittier than the stuff coming out of Chicago. And techno is a pretty worldwide phenomenon nowadays. Most of the stuff that is popular now is the minimal/tech-house that is coming out of Germany and South America.

Bah. I got pretty into the Naked sound when I like 14-15 (basically when Naked got big) but its all pretty much the same boring shit.
