I was told this thursday after months of testing.
A lot of stuff was involved. My parents had to be 'interviewed' as well.
My psychiatrist told me about it and also told me to look it up.
A lot of people that are autistic have low intelligence, but I have something that's called Asperger's syndrome, which is the same as autism but instead I don't have a low intelligence (rather I have a normal intelligence, or high intelligence) and that there's nothing wrong with the development of my language so I have a regular vocabulary, etc.
It's seen as something that is caused the brain which works differently that most people's brains. I'm bad at fantasy and lack imagination and I have a lot of logical and technical thinking patterns.
I have underdeveloped social skills and I don't know how to communicate with people sometimes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperger_syndromeThere's a few positive sides, I guess. I happen to like the fact that I think extremely logical and technical. Also:
Individuals with AS may use words idiosyncratically, including new coinages and unusual juxtapositions. This can develop into a rare gift for humor (especially puns, wordplay, doggerel and satire).
