Baten Kaitos Origins isn't as good as Final Fantasy XII

I'm enjoying it so far, but the storytelling and cutscenes just seem amateurish compared to what Square offers. Part of it is the lack of dynamic camera angles due to the pre-rendered backgrounds. The voice acting this time around is actually pretty good compared to the first game. I'm not so sure about the revamped battle system. It seems a bit too easy and I fucked up my first couple of turns cause I was so used to the dual analog system from the first game.

Will update later with more impressions, but so far this seems like a good buy.

I cant wait to play Origins. I loved the first Baten Kaitos game. I havent played FFXII yet but its on my 'to play' list. I cant really afford any new games ATM but Im putting in a cajunga online order in a month or so.

Yeah I have to import because I live in a PAL region. So the game plus a freeloader so it plays on my Cube is gonna cost me about $90 NZ  (about $55 US I think)

So is Origins better than the original?

I enjoyed it more than ff12, the game has some really tough battles.

Yeah I'm gonna play BKO pretty soon... after FFXII and Okami. Scenester - Koropinia was a lot of fun, well I only played it for about 10 min at NY Comic Con but it controlled really precise and had a nice art style to it. It's funny, you get to select different marbles to use, each with their special ability... and one of them is a "cat" and its ability is "makes cute sounds". I'm definitely getting it.
