This thread title reminded me of that DePalma movie Casualties of War. I remember seeing the VHS cover at the local video store when I was a kid - Sean Penn and Michael J. Fox in a Vietnam War movie (with an Ennio Morricone score)...I watched it a few years later and I never understood why it didn't get more attention, until I realized that the way it depicted the US military was way too negative for it to ever be a success. Even stuff like Platoon, when the soldiers are "bad", they're murderous psychos, not rapists. Great movie, though...
Yeah, I know this is a joke topic but it makes me want to watch Casualties of War again.
