I was going to post this on GAF, but then decided there would be no point because either
A) I would get banned for bitching or
B) Someone would actually listen and change policy and I would get hated for that,
But it's really hypocritical IMO to have this hyper strict policy on gaming related piracy/emulation or even leaks of media related to games and then allow open discussion of music that is so far away from release date that the only feasible way to have it is to have pirated it.
I know most of you here don't see the big deal since I'm firmly convinced that I'm the last person on earth that pays for cds and doesn't just pirate everything, but it's really a glaring double standard. For instance, the Arcade Fire thread is full of people talking about the full album... which doesn't come out until MARCH. Someone doing that about a game would get banned double quick and frankly I think it stinks, especially with an indie band that hasn't sold 5 billion records and isn't already rich.
Eh, just my opinion.
