why is it that most every time I look at replies to good elaborate posts, people either twist it with some meaningless catchphrase we've seen a million times before, or just discuss ONE point that seems to suit a person's trolling agenda? why do so many subsequent posts bring up points I ALREADY covered as if their were brand new to the conversation?

the only reason for this comparison is that it used to be much better a few years ago, and it seems to become more chaotic as months go by... members go off-topic with random inarticulate tangents and pretty lame gags and catchphrases and the amount of fake replies overwhelms the amount of genuine ones

GAF offers civil conversations. If you can't get along at GAF, you're basically distinguished mentally-challenged. Now I've been banned for acting like a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow many times. And just about everytime I've been banned, I knew it was coming. I would think "damn, that post is probably a little too much. I should edit it..." but then I'd not edit it and BAM 2 minutes later I'm banned. And who's to blame? Uh, me.

There have been iffy bans yea, but come on: most people deserve most of the bans they get.
