Well, it's the anti-authoritarian "liberalism" of loony libertarians which makes them want to believe this horseshit in the first place, especially when they can condense the ramifications of the 9/11 attacks to "the man" forcing them to dump their lattes before boarding a flight, and isn't that fucking Orwellian.
The Kos/netroots guys are interesting, they're hyper-focused on winning elections, but at the same time they're totally focused on venomous partisanship and exciting the base (which goes to what Diablos was talking about in the other thread), at the expense of (perhaps) actual effective governance and alienating independents/etc. You say they're moderate, but how far does that actually go? Dean f/e had all the appearances of being a moderate before he became the voice of the anti-Bush Democrats, now it seems like he's simply a partisan.
Anyway, I'm not really a horserace-watcher as much as I'm a newsreader...
