In J.J. Abrams next film Star Trek (no longer Star Trek XI, the writers said the final title is Star Trek, no numbers, no subtitle) it is reported now Jennifer Garner will be playing the love interest of Spock.

Oh god, this movie is going to fall victim to the "TOO MANY FAMILIAR FACES OH GOD" syndrome. Somestimes an all star cast isn't a good thing.

It seems everyone is a big name star that is in this film. Paramount got Abrams want to use his sway to lock up everyone he can. It's getting a bit too weird. I mean this is STAR TREK not some random summer blockbuster. It feels wrong to scoop up big names for every member of the cast.

Star Trek staring Matt Damon, Adrian Brody, & Jennifer Garner? Weird.

Hell Tom Cruise said he wanted a role in it.

Though Abrams said no Tom Cruise thankfully.

Paramount seems to be doing every single thing possible to make this "mainstream". It is almost like this isn't star trek anymore.

J.J. Abrams, Matt Damon, Jennifer Garner? It's almost like Trek is just a means to a end to have Abrams and his pals to make a sci-fi movie.

Regardless of quality its going to be damn interesting to see how all of this turns out on the screen.

I think this is just a mainstream way to insert a homosexual relationship into Star Trek. Why else would Paramount insert man-face Garner as Spock's homosexual love interest?

can't be surprised though. A reboot on this franchise was obvious to happen. The writers recently said it's NOT a prequel but a "re-imagining".

it will be the end of star trek, the fans star trek. It sounds bad but this has all the makings of a mainstream blockbuster. Star Trek will live but be Abrams star-led Star Trek.
