Howard Dean has been actively secretly meeting with Christian leaders the politico(a new spin-off awesome paper of the Washington post) says more than the party has done in decades. Howard Dean is assuming if Rudy is the nominee the christian right will be lost and confused and is setting up a opportunity to swoop in on them.


Will it work? Fuck no. But Dean is preparing to a gamble that Rudy can cause the Christian right to switch sides and is telling his candidates to set up the woodwork for a potential ship jump of the christian right it seems.

It doesn't make sense. The main issue that seperates Christians from voting for Democrats is abortion. Obama supports abortion. Hillary supports abortion. End of story.

If anything Rudy could possibly cause many Christians to stay home. There's no way they'd vote for Hillary and put Bill back into the White House

Rudy is a bit more un-pc about it is the thing the Dem's are probably eyeing.

I believe a majority of Evangelicals voted for Carter, so nothing is impossible.

Carter was loved by Christians for a long time. His weakness as a president is what lost him support when Reagan came around. Reagan had a similar, comfortable feel yet he gave people the impression that he could protect them. It's not surprising why so many people on both sides of the political divide either love or respect him.
