First one i remember was on the freeway rush hour traffic in 96. My mom was stuck in a trafic jam stoped. When a female driver going 80mph ran straight into the back of my mom's truck. The airbag on my moms truck did not inflate. (side note: Toyota got sued for this and it was settled out of court but no one ever contacted my mother about the lawsuit)
The second one was in 2002 my mom had her Hyundai Sante Fe for a year. It was in febuary and my mom was taking care of someones home. I was to go with her that night but I wanted to watch tv. So she went on her own. She was going northbound when a druggie drove straight in front of her. Contact was made on the right side crushing the passenger seat area where i was to be. My mom being a tiny person was thrown to the back of the car. And yes she did have her seatbelt. A young 10 year old was in the backseat of the car of the druggie and with no seatbelt. She implanted herself into the windshield her legs caught on the crumpled hood. I remember going to the scene of the accident after the police called.
That coupled with a degenerative nerve disease has left my mother in a wheelchair.
