It's a pretty good trailer. I've enjoyed the last two films for the sheer spectacles that they were, albeit the second didn't really feel like it started going 'till the end. If this last one is any good, it should make Dead Man's Chest retroactively better. Or if it sucks, and doesn't tie up a lot of loose ends or expand on certain characters (Davy Jones), it will be make Dead Man's Chest retroactively worse (a la Matrix Revolutions).

The Thirteenth Floor did the whole concept better, and had less Wire-Fu and more Gretchen Mol.

Looked good I suppose; definitely not as good as the DMC trailer last year, which was just awesome. But it's Jack Sparrow so I can't complain. I still couldn't help smile at even the meh things he said in the trailer. This should be fun. It looks more over the top than ever, but this time more relevent. An all out pirate war for survival sounds more awesome and worthwhile than being chased around by savages on an island.

Day one no doubt. And this time let's hope our MICHIGAN GAF MEETUP doesn't get ruined.

Well, in all fairness, I HATED The Matrix. So anything else dealing with a similar topic will be seen as better by me.

I don't know how one could hate The Matrix. Even at its simplest form, it's a damn fine science fiction action movie. I haven't seen it since the sequels, just because they were so bad they pretty much diminished my appreciation for the entire series (took a cue from Lucas, I guess). I probably won't be able to watch The Matrix for another three or five years, but I still don't think I'd hate it.

Wow, how could anyone hate the Matrix? In so many ways it's a perfect action movie: one with a brain. We watched it in my philosophy class

There are so many classic parts in the movie, and even the over the top action is never a big problem

I didn't like the whole style of the movie, I don't like any of the characters, I don't like any of the actors aside from Fishburne and Joey Pants, and I don't like what it did to action flicks (bullet time, leather, techno, etc.).

The first Matrix was part of a bad ass year for films. 1999 had a freaking awesome line up. The sequels pretty much tanked because, like Lucas, the Wachowski siblings suffered from probably not originally intending their story to be a trilogy and also because nerds shouldn't try telling love stories. Unlike Lucas, one of them decided he wanted to be a woman also.

Last one was pretty sketchy and I don't really see how this will be any better, although I really, really enjoyed the first one.

I almost walked out of The Matrix way back in 1999. Saw it on TV recently and it wasn't as bad as I remembered, but still sucked.

We weren't serious about the 300 one. The POTC2 one was supposed to feature me, Akia, Juice, and Demi. I'm sure Akia will be able to come this time, maybe Juice. I'd love for whytemyke and LordMaj to show up but they live pretty far away (Maj is in Saginaw) so they most likely won't come.

Well, there was supposed to be one last year but Demi ruined it. So we're going to do it this year. Me are Akia and basically guarenteed. I hope Juice can come, although I don't know if he wants to hang with some semi-adults...

Plus we'll get a couple other people. I'm going to really push it this year: Akia said we can get some deals at this restaurant his brother works at, so we'll eat there and sort of get to know each other. Then we'll head to the movie. After that, who knows. Maybe we can head to my place and hang out - play videogames (assuming someone brings a console) or whatever
