So, if you're not a musician/theater performer/avant garde street performer/child stalker, MySpace is pretty much just a big fucking waste of time. Sure, I spend a lot of wasted time there.
But today I came across
www.goodreads.com and holy shit! It's like BUTTAH, let me tell you. It's a social networking site, but for BOOKS. That's right, you get to post what books you've read, what you'd rate them as, and even write reviews if you like. When you sign up, you can even use your gmail account to see if anyone in your contacts list has an account, and if they do you can friend them and see what they're reading and compare notes and maybe pick up something decent to read from their list. I've already reviewed The Milagro Beanfield War and Foucalt's Pendulum, and who knows what else I'll get done now that I'm all unemployed and shit.
Anyway, if you like reading and talking about reading and getting new ideas of what to read from your friends or complete strangers and aren't completely infuriated by this run on sentence or hey maybe you are who gives a shit, go to
www.goodreads.com and sign up TODAY. Or, as always, I'll punch you in the genitals.
Ciao.
