Well so far ive played Quest mode quite a bit and played Vs against Drinky's Lei Fei.

The quest mode, in my opinion doesnt ramp up in difficulty as nicely as the quest mode in VF4Evo. Basically you can now go to pretty much any arcade you want regardless of your current skill level. While this is great for returning players who dont feel like grinding the first 10 kyus n dans, the vague description of the skill levels in an arcade are a little annoying.

I didnt think they could recreate the experience of rocking an arcade only to have some small 10 year old korean kid walk up and beat you with no effort at all, but they have. So for all my complaining, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, AM2!

The new characters, I think, are a lot more fun than the new characters added in VF4. While mr mexico wrassler apparently is low tier he is at least more interesting to play than say Wolf or Jeff.

Shun Di, my favorite hasnt changed much, and really neither has Aoi from what I can tell. Those were the two I used to use a lot. I started using Eileen in VF5 and she's kinda a hyper-lion. Drinky's Lei Fei wipes the floor with my Eileen but again, I havent even hit the dojo with her yet so who KNOWS. My SHUN DI STILL HAS SOME KICK THO GOD DAMNIT!

Also, wtf is with the water, it STILL looks horrible. The only stage where the water looks ok is the one that takes place in the rain in a busy intersection (my favorite stage overall I think)

The game IS visually impressive but the character models seem really uneven. Eileen's close-ups are terrifying, and most characters look like burn victims close up. Skin detail is not what I want in a fighter, seriously. The 'sweat sheen' is enough.

That being said VF5 is more VF which is just fine with me. So fine in fact I couldnt wait a few months for the 360 version which I will also buy lol. I guess VF5 360 will actually be like VF5 C or some version like that with some balance adjustments made. Drinky was telling me the japanese are pretty split on the VF4Evo vs VF5 situation because of the huge differences in balance, as in VF5 isn't quite there yet.

VF4 Evo is I dont know how many version tweaks into VF4 tho so its not really a fair comparison.

One thing I love about VF4 EVO's quest mode was the variety. You would play one level and there was some winning condition like,"Don't hit the ground!" and other cool stuff like that.

Also, the amazing AI made it have more punch than the average fighter.

That made VF4EVO my favorite 3d fighting game because NO ONE AROUND HERE PLAYS VF EVEN BACK WHEN THE FIRST ONE CAME OUT IN ARCADES. It's the one fighter that pulls all the stops even if you're playing on single player.

btw, what have they done to Vanessa? How is she?

VF4 EVO is the first tweak. They made another after EVO but I forgot the name.

VF4Evo Final Tuned i think it was. I'd think there were more than a few tweaks between arcade and evo tho. Im not a huge Vanessa player but she's considered top tier I guess. I haven't seen any of those 'dont hit the ground' missions in quest mode yet, or I havent noticed. Still lots of items and stuff. I just wish Eileen had better costumes, only one of them looks like something you'd fight in.

Supposedly August, that is I think EBgames tentative date..hhooowever Gamecrazy still doesnt have it in their computers so it might be EB just trying to make a quick buck. It IS coming to 360, not sure when for sure tho.

August. Ver. C is still a rumor, apparently, but since the PS3 will be getting Ver. C via network update, there's no reason to think the 360 won't get it as well. If the 360 version has improved load times, I'll replace my PS3 version.

Pai is so stupidly overpowered that it's apparently killed the competitive scene. Ver. C should nerf her and give poor El Blaze a boost.

Man, I love the new animations, especially the transitional blocking ones. No fighting series even APPROXIMATES the look and depth of VF. NOTHING. AM2 should stay FAR AWAY from Shitmoo and get cranking on more VF goodness.

I borrowed Resistance from Drinky. Ive seen it played, and while its a very 'solid' FPS, i've been PC gaming too long to give it much credit beyond that.

Gundam Musou ill probably give a chance once it hits stateside.

Ridge Racer 7 is really uneven. I like that it's harder, but the stages they ported from the 360 look like shit compared to RR6 while the RR7 originals look gasm-o-licious. Also MAN THE ALIASING. I miss RR6's clean AA.
