What are my chances of actually finding one? Last week I called around to various Gamestops and EBs and all I could get is a "maybe" try Wednesday morning for a "possible" shipment. lols... ;(

Because you'll enjoy it for 2 weeks and not touch it until Super Mario Galaxy. Might as well wait half a year so then you extend that 2 weeks and enjoy it for 2 more weeks for a total of 4 weeks.

I just don't see the point in buying a console unless there's a significant amount of games i want for it. I thought this before I got a Wii at launch, fell into Wii + Zelda hype, and I'm feeling it again because it's the only way about it. I don't think anyone should buy a console because they're feeling the hype or because someone just says to do so. It better have some fucking games to back it up. Either that, or a stead release flow of games, something Wii doesn't have this year.

I play 30-40 games a year Junpei. Out of that number roughly half of which are new. Do the math.

well for wii I knew there would be games I want before a price drop so it didn't make sence to wait. thats not true for ps3. 360 I got free

Here's a story:

One time I was in Nintendo World when they got a shipment of Wii's. I'm talking like 60 of them. And they're going left and right like woah. I get up to the counter and the lady sees me eyeballing them and gets all, "Do you want one?" and I'm like "Nah, I gotta save mah scratch". I go home that night, get crazy blitzed, lose 110 bucks and my cellphone on top of the 60 I ended up spending. So, I was out 310$, with no Wii and no cell phone.

Bad move. BUY IT YO

There were Wii units on sale at my local Circuit City in Chapel Hill, NC this morning. So it shouldn't be impossible to find them as long as you call around when stuff opens.

Thankfully, there was real gaming also available to be purchased at the store-namely S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ($30) and IL-2 1946 ($20).
