I think I'm going to get this game. Yes I do. I've been wanting to play a Dioblo'esque kind of game for a while now.

Level 46 and am at the end of Act 2 on Epic difficutly. Have had four purple drops so far, one of which was an insane 115-119 a swing sword that sent my mainhand DPS through the roof.

I also got what looks like a Spirit-based staff (Ternion attack line bonuses) and an uber ring for a summoner, which weren't so interesting.

Typhon?

Quote
Many people don't know this, I for one found out only after I killed him my first tim around, but his first spell is his breath of fire. However, if his breath hits the statues of other gods, he gains powers from that god, and will sometimes utterly spam it (especially when he gets life suck) that it becomes impossible to kill him. To silence that power, simply destroy the statue. He also has a set amount of 'charges' when he gains power from a statue, he can only cast I think 4 spells from that statue before running dry and losing the power, and will have to 'roast' the statue again to get the power back..

Western statue/Red/Hades: Life suck, summon liches (they aren't overpowered like oracle liches, thankfully)
Northern statue/Green/Demeter: Thorns, entangle and poison. He'll also cast all that at one time in said order.
Eastern statue/Zeus/Blue: Lightning bolts that tickle. hehe.
Southern statue/Yellow/Apollo: Summons meteors that hurt, and energy drain.

He's very easy to kill, start off by running to him, and let him breath fire in your general direction (so it doesn't hit the statue). Then head north past the green statue. Behind it is a frostbite shrine, which makes your life MUCH easier. Note: try to go around and wiggle abit, so his fire doesn't hit the statue. Then, try to fight him in the exact middle (where the golden eye is) or in between the statues. When he looks like he's gonna throw up, run around him but if you have 40% fire resist, you can just chug a hp potion and continue beating him down.

Of course, we all know now that typhon took a bunch of steroids, went to work out in the gym, and got a lot more fit. I still just beat him without any deaths though . He also can now use any spell he wants to, so I can only give you general tips:

1) Don't worry about his life leech, it's been nerfed alot and he doesn't spam it.
2) Bring alot of health potions. They've been buffed alot and can regen alot of health points.
3) Knowing when to attack and when to retreat is key. Attack anytime his thorns are gone (this includes ranged) and retreat when he starts casting meteors - they hurt!

Lightning Bolts - around 2,000 damage with 0% resist, Legendary. Attack!
Firebreath - in total 4,000 damage with -10% resist, Legendary. Attack and potion!
Poison - around 6,000 damage with -10% resist, Legendary. Attack and potion!
Meteors - I didn't even bother counting the damage, but it does 1-shot my 9,000hp ***.

Those are his 4 moves which he spams the most often.

4) His attacks aren't really that scary, even with 0 resist (though negative is quite a problem). Run around him if he has his thorns up, and charge in when they're gone. You can run anywhere now, without fear of his fire hitting the statues.
5) Start off the fight by running to the North and Northwest (battle marker + frost) shrines. They help during the fight, but they'll get dispelled by typhon eventually.
6) He spams his spells alot.

Enjoy this fight of extreme spell-spammage and by the way the loot is now even more pathetic! Did I mention you have to listen to that moron zeus again? ; )

seems they made the statutes really difficult to destroy, i guess you gotta keep him away from that west statue.

I think killing the statues doesn't work anymore.

When I personally fought Typhon, I kited and drank potions a LOT as a melee class. No EZMODE pet class shenigans for my harbinger. :(

Also, if you're getting owned by drain magic, Vitality resist helps out tons.

yeah I drank like fuckin 50 life and 40 mana before he got a cheap shot in. He was down to maybe a 1/5th life! Im defense tho so I get the shield charge which is nice, but my DPS isnt what it should be since most of my offense is shield based with a very narrow focus in the dream tree

Well, that was sort of the captain obvious answer to the problem!

Buttrock and loot is better than peanut butter and chocolate IMO.
