Man, only British people are allowed to say that, like how only people of African descent can say the N word.

European = English?

You probably got the job. Every one want's a Hugh Grant type working for them. Start practising your English accent.

*Reading through email*

mhmmm...mhmmmm....yes....huh? Cheers? The fuck is this shit? Probably some sexual innuendo. Totally Sexual Harassment.

I don't think "cheers" is terrible. It's better than like,

Dear Boss,
Yadda yadda.

If I was a girl I could be cutesy with it (no offense). But I have to somehow walk that line of professionalism but not cold. Try to be sincere but not like I'm trying to have the persons babies (the one I'm sending the email too). Oh god its HARD :cry

He probably thinks your gay now.  Don't be surprised if he offers you a raise if you can give him a raise, if you know what I mean.   ;)

I was actually thinking about using "Regards" or "Sincerely" but for me "Regards" sounded kinda jarring (the way its just sudden) and "Sincerely" sounded too intimate. But thinking about it now...I should have just used "Regards". Either way, CHEERIO MY BLOKES HAHAHAHA... ugh whyyyyyyyyyyyy

I feel like Ross when he started teaching a College class and used a fake English accent and couldn't stop. Oh gosh, I just referenced a Friends episode noooooo. Wheres Cajole when I need him.

It felt like that at the time but I was being anal about what I should close with. The general consensus though, is that I should have gone with anything other than "Cheers". Oh man, the fact that I used that to close my email is sounding sillier and sillier :lol

PEACE,

Jeremy

 :'(

Oh and....I have a painfully obvious Latin last name. So just imagine "Cheers" being followed by that Latin last name.

I mix it up. Sometimes it's "regards", but it's mostly "thanks!" lately. I like to give that informal air right at the end, you know?

Once I've emailed someone twice, it's "cheers," or even "cheers!" if I'm feeling really cheery. Then I start signing my name as "-alistairw" rather than "Alistair". It's hot. People love it.

I don't think signing cheers is bad for you, dude.

Question if your taken to a brewery with a group of managers and senior regional corporate managers. Is it ok to order a beer or drink? I wouldnt ask if I didnt know. But I'm really fucking nervous and I need either a ice breaker for small talk or something and I know a lot of fun facts about booze. I dont know too much that would be fun in the tech world to talk to them about. I know not to order a beer if they dont but is it ok if they do. Does it reflect badly on me?

I'd err on the side of caution and get a soda.
