Family Trees LOL
« on: April 03, 2007, 09:45:12 AM »
Not that any of it matters but I always find this stuff interesting. My g-ma had one of those family trees made and I got to read it once.

The story of one side:

Buncha old European people move to Boston in like the 1600's. One of their future spawn apparently opens up a bar and holds secret revolutionary meetings in the basement. What a badass. Later on in the early 1900's there's some dude that REALLY likes cars. I think that he secretly made love to them.

And the other side:

Some people move from South America (Chile) to what's now AZ and set up a dude ranch. One of their spawn sells guns to the native americans so that they can kill the white man, and gets to be buried in their graveyard. Later on the US buys the land is all, "Hey if you want to stay Mexican, you gotta move, or you can stay and just be American, and stuff." They toked on some grass, stared off into the distance and said, "whatever dude, fuck it, let's be gringos."

The end. What's yours?

All I know is that on my fathers side there was nobility from what is now either the Swiss or Italian Alps. Unfortunately by the time my family crossed the atlantic I don't think they were nobility anymore or something. Anyway, they came over during the 1920's and settled in North Dakota because it was one of the few places where they could still get incredibly cheap land. My great grandfather and his brothers built the only grain elevator in their town at the time but when the depression hit the locals began to dislike them since they had saved money. The story goes that they made loans to many of the local farmers but were never paid back.

I have no clue about my mothers side other than she is pure German blood but her family came over from Russia.

My mothers side have not been around long. My great-grandparents came over here from Ireland. They got a farm when they came over here in Iowa and remained 100% irish catholics, and farmers in Iwoa till my mom.

My dad's side came to Quebec area from France AGEEEES ago. Back in the 1700's I believe. They moved into Michigan about 100 years ago and really haven't spread out. The french-canadian blood like has gotten very mixed up though and hasn't really remained like my moms side.

Mothers side:

Grandfather's family: 1870 from Ireland settled in lower New York then moved to Ohio. Where his dad would be born around 1890. Then his father left the east to come out west in the early 1910 in the great search for black gold in california. Grandfather was born in 1934.

Grandmother's family: 1910 from Russian-German east Germany to New York and from there straight to California. Dont know much else.

Dont know much about my fathers side. Other than there are low landers and highlanders and the difference is all with a E or a D. Its either Mcfarland or McFarlane. That and they faught like mad.

Mom's side: all the fuck over Europe.

I don't know my birth father.

My daddy's family is from northern France and from Germany, though. I have a French name because of this but my mom's family is like not French at all and it's funny to me.

Great grand father on father's side was an orphan (first one in my family line to have the current last name) and he and every generation since then on that side has had at least one teacher.

Mother's side is from same city in iran, they're hella rich.  Her father started the school that my other grandfather worked at.  Apparantly it was one of the first co-ed schools in that city.

My mother has over 50 cousins.  However, more people on my dad's side came to US so they're richer.
