She won't be placed in a combat zone, but as M.P., she will be in charge of protecting various military points. And it's not like those have been safe from insurgents, terrorists, suicide bombers, etc. It's dangerous, no matter what your gender.

Yeah, it's a common name for all white people. Her mom doesn't look too fondly on 'em, so initially, my name was purely bok gwai. Now that I'm there on a regular basis, I've gotten a personalized nickname that roughly translated into English means "fat punk boy".

Not quite. Hate is a strong word. Her mom doesn't like white people, but I think she's coming along to some degree. I mean, she buys me my favorite Chinese dishes, for no reason. And when I say they call me "fat punk boy", it's not really a malicious name as it might sound in English. I mean, they refer to their oldest daughter (who doesn't post here) as "fat girl".

Her father thinks I'm okay, but is obviously uneasy about me as I'm dating his daughter. Although, in recent days, my status with him has taken a hit and I wouldn't be surprised if he did hate me.

It's weird, man, in Japan it's sort of the opposite. Foreign guys are looked upon as more reliable/kind/caring than Japanese guys so a lot of girls go for 'em for that reason. There's a real hatred for whiteys by the Chinese American community for some reason, though (I've heard it from several chinese american friends of mine, how they'd never date white girls because their parents would kill them).

Without getting into details, I have supported rodi since she decided to commit to the military and as someone voluntarily serving our country in a time of war, I feel compelled to show her the kind of respect she deserves. Her father is a different story. My support, while not vocal, is noticeable in that household and I think I've been cast out of favor as a result.

I think asian women are hawt. I'd rather have a slim girl than a chunky one, and there's way too many chunky ones in the US. I think a lot of asian girls have very delicate features too. Do a google search for Nakama Yukie, Otsuka Ai, etc.
