Billy Packer says some pretty shocking stuff while calling games. I can't really think of another announcer as respected as him who is nearly as crass as he is, to say the least. He's clearly not afraid to speak his mind.
I was listening to the Dan Patrick show a few weeks ago while March Madness was still going on, and Patrick asked Packer why he was constantly making such negative comments about players. Of course Packer dismissed it as just having fun, which I suppose it is to a certain extent.
But the thing most people can't stand about him is his complete contradiction in tone when he's calling certain teams. If he's calling a Duke game you better bet that he'll never say anything negative about Duke or Coach K. Best case:
