So I rented Running Scared this weekend because everything else was rented at Blockbuster. I immediately walked in with super low expectations when I saw Paul Walker on the cover (he's cinematic cancer), but I gave it a flier because Wayne Kramer's last movie (The Cooler) was pretty enjoyable.
In short, this film was a blast. Not amazing, but it moves with a sense of urgency at a breakneck pace. It has hookers and crooked cops and mobsters and creepy pedophiles and pimps and everything.
I will say that this has a very admirable sense of style and some of the shots, from a technical perspective, are nothing short of amazing. Wayne Kramer has proved to me he's a guy to look out for.
Definitely worth a rental.
