I'm not Jewish but I used to feel some kind of sadness/guilt on Good Friday when I was small. I think it was the whole "Jesus DIED because YOU sinned!" thing.

Solely blaming the Jews for the death of Christ isn't fair. It would not have happened if the Romans didn't sanction it. Still, the Jews in Jerusalem demanded that he be crucified for blasphemy

Well he was killed for sedition by the romans, because he wanted to lead the jews, which I assume many jews wanted to do and disliked him for it, so theoretically jews felt more guilt that their leader died then people who buy bunny chocolate and speak in tongues because they think a bearded half-naked guy pleading for his life and slowly dieing nailed on a cross is so miraculous, that he's the son of god.

Where did you get that? Most Jews didn't see him as a "leader" or any such thing. They saw him as a blasphemer who claimed to be the Messiah

At one point he was leading jewish people. I think those people he was leading felt more guilt then anybody today.

I didn't say he lead them all, the people he did lead probably felt guilty. There were probably many people that had authority in Jewish communities because the romans made it punishable by death.

When he was crucified, he had a sign above his head that he was being killed for being a leader. He could've not paid taxes and been crucified, but he was a leader.

The gospels were written during a Jewish revolt, in order for you're religion to be practiced, you better put the fucking blame on the jews.

you HAVE to be kidding me. His sign said "King of Jews" not because the jewish leaders saw him as that, it was more of a way to mock him.

He was indeed crucified due to the fear of him causing a uprising. But it never happened in his life. His followers were poor and small in number during his life time he was by no means even CLOSE to having enough sway to cause any sort of uprising but they were paranoid.

Perhaps like .05% of the jewish people at the time of his death saw him as their king, if that. He didn't gain a large amount of followers outside the small loyal but very poor base he had during his life until his disciples claimed his resurrection.

Thats not how christians see him btw they see him as willingly dying for the sins of the world.

Historically, while he was alive and when he was killed he was seen as a blasphemer and a liar. The messiah stuff did not take off till after his crusifixion.

Cheebs has already explained things well enough. Jesus was not only hated by the Jewish pharisees because of his message, he was also hated due to the company he surrounded himself with; many of his followers were indeed very poor and not socially esteemed.

He didn't die because you sinned. He died for your sins. There's no blame to be passed around in that regard; his death was the best thing to happen for us, according to the bible at least

Poorly worded. I wanted to point out that there is no "blame" associated in this. Jesus didn't die because YOU sinned, as in it's not your fault Jesus died. He died to erase your debt, so that that now your sins no longer condemn you to any type of judgement. He died for your sins.

It just seemed like her post insinuated that the church is placing blame on people for Jesus's death. I don't see it in that negative connotation

You're probably talking about the sadducees, the minority. They couldn't be a christian without giving up their beliefs but pharisees could.

The pharisees and sadducees opposed Jesus and his teachings in general; they did not believe he was the son of God. You don't need to be a theologian to realize that. There are a couple parables dedicated to them in which Jesus criticizes their lack of faith

Exactly. The Bible makes it pretty clear that the religious leaders fully rejected him and didn't think of him as a "leader" at all

neither of them were political parties anyways, they could just persuade people. pharisees actually were more tolerant.

I never said they were political parties. They were opposite religious leaders. The sadducees were more conservative and priveledged.

Well it's a fact he was killed for sedition, beliefs were mostly in line with those of the pharisees, the new testament was written during a jewish revolt, and even thinking anybody in particular is to blame for his death is the most unchristian thing possible (gospel of john 19:12 through 19:15 say this so yes, bible is hypocrytical).
