The Front Page. New features explained. New as in a week old anyway.

I have outlines links in the above picture for clarity, or if you are distinguished mentally-challenged anyway.

In red are links to some of the new features we have

  • Home - takes you to the front page. Useless from the front page.
  • Forum - takes you to this forum. Amazing.
  • Blog - takes you to the new Blog feature, more on that below in my next post.
  • Image Gallery- takes you to the new gallery, feel free to upload whatever. no porn though.
  • Shoutbox - the latest shout is under our logo there and the rest are under the latest forum posts on the right there. Chatbox essentially. Certain words are censored.
  • Downloads - do we have anything to host? I'm not sure but maybe one day we will.
  • News- useless to anyone but admins/mods, changes the front page news there.
  • Reviews - add a review about some video game or whatever.
  • Chat - java chat for those without mIRC.

Outlined in a hard to see yellow is the little personal menu.

Its got your avatar, portal cp for admins/mods, personal cp which takes you to the forum profile options.
PM's: I have 97 and 0 are new. Lastly, an option to log out.

BTW those arrows on the left and right close their respective columns.

Why the hell is your browser using a font with serifs for menu options and bookmarks?  That's god damned hideous.

It does that for me too in IE7. It's really hideous. I hate this light colored shit, it hurts my eyes. Make it darker.

I'm referring to the front page, not my browser. Serif fonts are hideous period.

Oh yeah, it's bad on the page, too.  Especially since the font is kind of small.  I just figured it might be some sort of design decision I didn't get, but serifs in the browser menu made me question Jesus.  I would have a headache.

This is pertaining to the blog. The first part is a screen of the blog page.
Outlined in black is the list of member blogs. Click one to view it.

Outlined in red is the Blog Menu:
Blog Chart - shows the top ten blogs and their stats.
Blog Preview - lets you see your blog if you have created one.
Create Blog - make a blog. Fill in the boxes. Its easy.
Write in Blog - make a new entry. Simple html editor.
Configure Blog - edit those boxes if you fucked up.
Edit template - The second part of the above screen shot is how you edit your blogs look. Use the yellow outlined box if you know what your doing with html/css. Outlined in green is a link to pre-made blog templates if you don't.
Your gallery - you can have 8 images hosted on evilbore for your site. Or you can just link to them when you make a new entry.
Delete Blog - gets rid of your blog.

Anyway the front page is the default template with a few image changes, I can edit whatever.

The serifs make me feel like there's glass being grinded into my eyes.  Is that really small Times New Roman or Georgia or what?  IT'S TOO SMALLLLL!!!

For someone who's aspiring to be a designer, Viz is breaking a lot of basic rules. For one, using serif fonts. Eugh.

fixed reviews section. Changed the news to a sans-serif font. Use your browsers text options to increase the size of the text.
