I also love it. Its charm is in its simplicity and visuals. It gets a lot of hate though.

Its supposed to be getting an HDDVD or BD release this year I think. If the transfer is good and it doesn't reveal the fake set (the woods) then it will look stunning.

Uh it's a Ridley Scott standard. It applies to Blade Runner, KoH, and Legend! The DC of Gladiator is also much better but the original was still very good.
