They are so fucking fun. I liked the Unicorns quite a bit, but Islands fucking surpasses it in so many ways. Return to Sea is the best iTunes purchase I've made this year. It's pop rock done right, and in some songs, country done right.

Eh, I listened to them a bit once after I got Return to the Sea. Didn't grab me really.

Maybe I'll give them another chance soon.

I just don't like "fun" music most of the time, unless it rocks my face off.

I saw them live, they were decent enough. Not like the greatest band ever or anything but good enough.

Tapes n' Tapes is cool, but for whatever reason they're one of those bands that just reminds me of a lot of other bands without having their own signature sound or style.

I enjoy them but I can see a lot of people passing them over as being a little gimmicky, what with the guy playing Euphonium and all. I like how their songs seem to shift styles but it fits together well.

I'll come clean and be one of the few to admit to hating Return to the Sea. There are moments where I really dig The Islands and The Unicorns, but Thorburn's weak, Wayne Coyne-like vocal delivery is really a test of patience to my ears and I ultimately can't take it. The songs simply aren't interesting enough to overlook it.
