Yeah, yeah. I know this will get a lot of eyes rolling (Zelda and story wtf) and the like, but I still want to discuss this. I know most of Neogayf, namely the likes of Amir0x or Dragona would just start talking about WW having the best story because Link was so kawaii^_^ and shit, missing the point of story completely, so it's best to talk about it here (oh, and the fact that I'm banned there, lolz).

But yeah, first of all, I'm in no way saying that I thought WW had a bad story. In fact, I thought it was charming and pretty great overall. But seriously, how was it a breakthrough in storytelling, and what did it do that wasn't been done with the previous 3D Zelda games? The only noteworthy thing was humanizing Ganon. Other than that, there was nothing worth mentioning.

I liked the flood story and hyrule underwater. - it was just nice.

it had a lot of sidequests, dialogue was less crappy, eyes were funny.

it did something for me.

actually I have no idea what was special about the story but the presentation was really good and story was actually not bad for a fantasy game or zelda. Presentation is the most important thing though and it did that pretty well.

They say that because the characters have more going on. Zelda is an active character who has a role of her own, and Gannondorf actually says something and is sympathetic enough that you would like to see him in his own game, based on the events he speaks of in WW.

It's really not that hard to figure out why people say WW had the best Zelda story.

I wouldn't say so. Shiek has less face time than pirate girl, and pirate girl goes back to piratign afterwards while Zelda is just Zelda in oot.
