Some guy was shot a short distance from my neighborhood bar
« on: April 24, 2007, 12:15:04 AM »
The southeast side of my humble community has seen violent crime rise this year, and this doesn't include a shooting a hop skip and a jump away from my local, neighborhood bar.  Some parts of the area I feel comfortable walking around at night, but there are others that are becoming dodgy.  It's a bit sad to see a part of the city deteriorate like this due to socioeconomic conditions.

You're in SF, right? What part?

Or are you in Oakland? I can't remember.

East Bay.  I'd rather not specify since G is promising to EAT my loved ones.

And no, I don't live in Oakland.  Thank God.  Oakland has been bad for years - it's actually getting better.  They're dumping a lot of money into law enforcement there.

The shooting happened tonight too.  Chris and I were at the bar when two Rastafarians came in from outside talking about gunshots, and then someone called our bartender asking about us

Stay safe guys. My dad always says pride doesn't matter when compared to getting shot in the face. I've been in more than a couple situations where people just come up to you trying to instigate stuff. I prefer to just say hey man I have no problem with you

I could care less, but shootings are no laughing matter at all.

Close, but wrong!

Don't give him hints, he's talking about how he feels like he's going to "snap" at Mupepe's forum.  Who knows what he'll do.

He'll eat a cream pie and cream his pants while thinking about his "girlfriend" Roxy.

Seeing as how I grew up in the Bronx, shootings don't phase me that much anymore. Last summer I couldn't help but laugh when I heard that there was a shootout between a 16 year old and a Burger King manager less than a block away from my house. :lol

Wrong order.  First he'll cream his pants, and then he'll use that cream to make a pie.

Shootings arent funny but where i used to live one happened every other week. Hell my dad was shot in front of that house. But i really dont condone the use of guns. If you got a beef with someone just fight hand to hand one on one.

I live in the suburbs of Sacramento, so I don't have to worry about this crap for the most part. It still happens occasionally though. A week ago the deli across the street from my apartment was held up at gunpoint. I can't really think of any time when I ever had to worry about anything of that nature.

It seems like there are more stabbings in my area than shootings. I do remember a drug-related shooting when I was in high school, though. It happened on the street corner where my little brother waited for the school bus.
