There's nothing really wrong with bringing up 9/11, per se.  "There's a better chance of an attack if you elect the other guy" is just an inversion of "You'll be safer with me."  Everyone who's campaigning will claim they have the best, safest national security policy.

None of the candidates impress me to be honest. Obama is the only one that strikes me as "real" so to speak, but of course he's directly cut out of the "talk big, do nothing" cloth of previous charasmatic Democrats. Maybe he'll proove me wrong - I can't wait for the debate omg.

McCain is trying far to hard to appeal to traditional conservatives while also appealing to the faar right, when in reality both groups hate him.

Guliani is also caught in a dilemma as he wants to cover up his liberal social record with hardline warhawk positions that went out of style a couple years ago

Hillary has never been herself, as we all know

Despite controversies (Coulter's comments) and personal tragedies (his wife's cancer) that helped his campaign, Edwards has no traction - and his shift to the left isn't very believable.

Edwards just plain cant find a place in polls. My gut reaction is anti-Hillary democrats are trying to rally around Obama(of course his charm and speaking ability...etc helps) purely to stop her.

He surfaced at the right time with the right amount of newness for the anti-Hillary dem's to jump aboard.

Obama is also seen as more electable compared to Edwards (in the eyes of anti-Hillary dems). I think many dems might still be upset with the 2004 election, and it's hard for them to put their trust in Edwards now. That campaign was very poorly run, and while it's certainly not Edwards fault he's the fall guy because of his involvment in the 2008 elections now.

In the end Obama seems to be the man who came out of nowhere and (possibly) ruined the status quo for the dems. This was supposed to be Hillary's year. Right after November 2004 every pundit agreed that Hillary was in the best position for the 2008 race, and her path was reletively clear. Obama was a factor, but at that time no one thought he was going to run; I remember people billing him as a 2012 shoe in.

Now Hillary actually has to work for the nomination. Many reports from within her inner circle throughout the years have painted her as a very brooding, manipulative person with a horrible temper - she must be fuming about Obama right now. I just wonder if we'll get to see even a glimpse of it during the debates, where Obama is going to truly shine. At the end of the day even Hillary supporters aren't going to be able to say she was victorious in the debate. Obama is out of her league, period.

It also helps Obama that on election day in primaries democrats tend rebel against the front runner.
