Brian Williams will be hosting the first presidential debate tomorrow night from 7-9 PM EST on MSNBC with all of the democratic candidates. You'll finally get to see some discussion/arguments between Clinton, Edwards, & Obama(and some people no one cares about).

Obama is considered the best debater, will he meet his high expectations?
Will Hillary's rather meh speaking style hurt her or can she be more personable?
Will Edwards be able to hold his own and get some attention from these two?

Brian Williams will ask the candidates questions submitted from this page if you want to ask a candidate a question:

I just want to know if they'll push for another Duke Nukem 3D game to be made, that's the basis on which I'm going to vote.

Can't wait for Hillary to give Obama the death stare while he puts on his best Barney "I love You" impression.

Hopefully they'll demand an IQ test for entrance so Kucinich doesn't have to poison us with his fantasy world bullshit. Peace fund, impeach Cheney? Go back to yer country, I don't understand you

Don't worry the hosts tend to ignore the meaningless candidates other than a few throwaway questions to make them feel like they belong after their opening comments.

Didn't the Southern drawl thing happen when she was quoting someone?

Because if that's not allowed, then I've got a lot of apologies to make for school presentations about John Muir, Renaissance France, Boss Tweed, etc.

But that's not all she said. Politicians often mix quotes into their speeches. What they usually don't do is show the world how stupid they are by using faux accents

She did the southern drawl thing a second time last week while meeting with some group of african american voters last week in New York.  She wasn't quoting anyone, either.  She was just talking like that.  It was completely ridiculous.

How does the fact that she was quoting a song justify the stupid accent in the first place

Obama: I know a little about being black...
*audience laughs*

Hillary: NO you don't. Crack doesn't grow on trees in Hawaii or Muslim Land where you came from

Obama: I don't like the politics of fear and smears. I don't think the students of Virginia Tech like it either

I think Hillary will take on more of an urban black attitude this time.  I'm expecting lots of head-bobbing, sassing, and OH NO YOU DIDN'Ts while waving a finger in Obama's face.  She's gonna make Obama look whiter than Strom Thurmond.  She will truly be our first black president.  Just wait until she starts wearing afrocentric clothing like cast members from The Cosby Show and A Different World.  Fuck, crazy nicca bitch is gonna make Obama look god-damed asian in comparison.

This is the second time from a few weeks back.  It's more subtle.  It's from a speech in front of the National Action Network, a civil rights group founded by Rev. Al Sharpton.  Note the sort of word choice she goes for.

Yeah, it's "more subtle" in that it doesn't sound anything like the first example.  In the first, she was quoting a hymnal in the dialect it was written.  In the second, she's using vernacular in a speech to potential constituents.  Shock!

Has even one single person who was at either speech objected to or said they were offended by what she said or how she said it?  Because in both videos it sounds like there's an overwhelmingly positive reaction.

This just reeks of the same kind of manufactured "outrage" as the Coretta Scott King funeral.

I have been tracking this all day. Here is what you need to know PD

6-7 PM: Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews discuss what to expect in the debate and the 2008 democratic primaries
7-9 PM: DEBATE
9-12: Olbermann & Matthews discuss the debate and more democratic primary politics for three hours straight

Some debate info. They put Obama and Hillary RIGHT NEXT TO EACHOTHER out of all 7. MSNBC must want reaction shots quickly.

Plans they are hearing from the campaign

Obama: Focus on policy over vision, he believes most know his vision and needs to get out policy ideas
Hillary: Focus on personality and warmth and seem "lady like" whatever that means to contrast from the other 6
Richardson: show off the fact he has tons of experience (aka make a good vp)
KUCHINCH: Focus on how Hillary and Obama are not liberal enough and point out no one there will support his impeachement of Cheney so they aren't "true democrats"

Gravel>>>>>>>>Sharpton. This man should be on the news all day, everyday. I'm just waiting for him to drop the f bomb

Overall I thought the debate was pretty tame. No one was willing to go after the other hard, but this was just the first debate; I'm sure Obama and Hillary will be less "friendly" as the campaign moves on and they have to seperate themselves from the pack.

I can't stand Hillary but I must say she held her own. I didn't expect her to do well.

Obama was clearly the most articulate but he didn't say anything that blew me away, so to speak. If anything the debate simply confirmed my believe that he's another charasmatic democrat with few ideas. I still like him, but I'm not bending over until he actually does something.

Richardson looked out of his league. He was the only one who needed to take peeks at his cue cards, and he rarely answered questions on time. At the end of the day he's running for VP more than anyone so it doesn't matter.

As I expected Kucinich came off as a complete nut. I think Biden summed it up well enough by saying he's living in a fantasty world. The US has enemies that do indeed want to hurt us, and admitting that doesn't automatically make you a warhawk or paranoid sheep. It's simply fact. I wish the moderater would have asked him point blank if war is ever an option, and if it has ever been justified.
