The venue they were playing at near here was in an inconvenient location, and it was on a work night :(  I wouldn't be able to get there without a vehicle.

I'm not a hermit, though.  I just use PT.  Here in the Seattle area, if there's anything worthwhile, you can generally get to it by bus.  I have a slight aversion to driving after my auto crash in 2001.

I was filled with drugs.  I probably couldn't get it up.

The story was one of the tales of depravity at GAF.

Not particularly.

Boy, G, your attempts to make me look sad are pretty, well, sad.  I'm not the obese man with an imaginary girlfriend relationship with someone that is clearly related to me.  I am not a compulsive, lying, alcoholic.  I mean, judging by your difficulties with truth telling, any slant you could through at me is immediately interpreted as being positive.

No wonder you have nothing better to do with your time though. I find it hilarious, so dont mind me and my crazy world of made up shit. Even though some of it is real, you just cant handle the truth. So you try making excuses to the madness that is my life. But now i understand why your so obsessive. Your a hermit with no life.

Actually, I had to go out to lunch, hence the quick reply.

I have never denied that I am a geek.  I own a ton of computer hardware and enough gadgetry to put most shops to shame.  My favorite hobbies are writing, gaming, and movies.  I work 40+ hours a week.  When you're an adult working a full time gig, you don't have a whole lot of time to both indulge your hobbies and socialize.  Luckily, I have little interest in socializing that much.  It doesn't do much good mocking me when I'm generally happy with the way I live.  Sometimes it would be nice to drive, and if I had to, I'd get a vehicle.  It's just not something very high priority for me.

Now, if I had a truly shameful hobby, like inventing various scenarios and passing them off as true, or pretending on the internet to have had a sexual relationship with someone that is clearly related to me, or posted posted pictures of an absolutely filthy and revolting apartment, or posted pictures of my naked asshole, or myself wearing panties, or myself naked, well, I'd deserve to get picked on.  I'll say it again, it's very off-putting that the only thing your advice is solid on is booze and food.  And I'll say this again, too:  the main reason I think you're an awful person is that you use your invente life scenarios, your deck of lies, to act like an expert and give other people advice.  That's more revolting than seeing you nekkid.

And yup, Billy, I like Pocket Symphony a lot.  I actually appreciate how low key it is because it makes good background music.

If it was the one you mentioned you like, I'm pretty sure it was Run from the album Talkie Walkie.

Air is playing at a club here on the 9th, but I don't think I could persuade any of my philistine friends to pay $45 to see a fruity French electronic duo present low-key pop songs, masterpieces that they are.  Going alone isn't even optional.  :'(

Did Air come to Seattle already?

In any event, I REALLY need to buy tickets to see Jarvis Cocker next Monday...

Did Air come to Seattle already?

They did Pantages Theatre in Tacoma, not Seattle.  Why they would play Tacoma over Seattle I do not know.

Really? That's awesome. The Pantages is a great theater.

I never saw Pulp live, so I will be forever kicking myself if I don't go see Jarvis on Monday.

Tacoma is not a bad town. I lived there for three years while in college. They deserve some culture from time to time, and it helps balance out the utter crap they get at the Tacoma dome (WWE, Monster Truck rallies, country music performers, etc.).

Oh, I know it's not a bad town or anything.  It's just inconvenient.  And Seattle probably has more people that like Air than Tacoma does. . .unless some Air WWE Monster Truck has become popular since I stopped paying attention to TV.

last i checked, there's very little of the hermit about tvc. me, i'm more of a hermit, and i am exceptionally cool with that.

g, even if you were sociable, people would cattle prod you out of any public area the very moment they smelled your morbid bulk.
