Should funeral processions be banned from the highways?
« on: April 27, 2007, 03:46:41 PM »
In the last three days, I've nearly been killed as a procession of 30+ slow moving cars escorted by taxpayer funded police cruisers and bikes ever so gingerly make their way down the freeway.  Just this afternooon, with no warning whatsoever, this police bike rolls up in front of a yield sign that exits the highway and STOPS traffic for a good 10 minutes.  Absolutely ridiculous.  Sorry for your death, but save that shit for the late evening.

Yes. I can't understand how they would allow this to begin with.

Aren't they only for police officers?

No, they're for anyone who can afford a largish funeral.

And REALLY.  If you can't wait for seven minutes so the grieving family of some dead fucker can ride to the cemetery with a sense of ritual and respect then you need to do two things:

1.  Rethink how early you leave the house.
2.  Punch yourself right in the nuts for being such an inconsiderate prick.

oh, the only one I saw had like 50 police bikes and that's it.  I don't see a problem with it.

Yeah.  Murderous rampages are just the ticket for getting you to work on time.

they did this on Highway 101 with a large group of people going from Gilroy to just south of San Jose where there was a graveyard on some hill there. I was on the greyhound and we had to wait for like 15 minutes to get around them. Hate when they do it near my house as well. But theres nothing you can really do.

Funny you would use that word, because that's exactly what they are when they decide to slow down traffic on a busy street.

I try to leave carnage behind me, not in front of me. Everyone else can go fuck themselves!

I blame videogames, really.

Yea, I always figured that's why my uncle got one. He was a Lieutenant in the NYPD. What I don't understand is why we needed to go so slow. I'll give you that at least, Lonestar.
