Pretty cool ramen recipe I made
« on: April 27, 2007, 07:52:25 PM »
I bought a bunch of ramen today (8 for $1!). I didn't want to cook it with the sauce packs though due to the huge amounts of sodium they hold - around 900mg or so. So instead I decided to try my hand at stir fried ramen.

Ingrediants:
-1 pack of ramen
-vegetables (whatever you like)
-Olive oil

For the first step I cleaned off my veggies - I used mushrooms and red bell peppers. Next I took a little bit of olive oil and added it into a pan. Once the oil was hot I added my veggies and turned the heat down a bit. Make sure you watch them; you don't want them to burn, but you want them to be cooked well.

A couple minutes later I put my ramen on. The packets I use require you to place the ramen in two cups of boiling water.

By the time the the ramen is done your veggies should be looking cooked. Now add the ramen, including most of the water, into the frying pan that you cooked the veggies in. Toss things around and turn the heat up a bit. At this point you can start adding seasoning. I decided to use a few light sprinkles of the sauce packet that comes with the ramen. Remember, this is supposed to be healthy so don't add too much.

After a few minutes of cooking the water should begin to evaperate. At that point get a bowl, add the food, and eat. Despite not adding much seasoning, my noodles came out with a nice taste; also it didn't taste nearly as salty as ramen cooked in the full sauce packet. The veggies also give things a nice touch, especially mushrooms because they seem to soak in a lot of flavor.

This is a cheap way to eat ramen a lot healthier than normal. I thought it was way better in fact, and I'm never using the full sauce packet again :)

fuck that

-beef or chicken ramen
-pace picante

or

get a wok, some olive oil and garlic powder.  boil the ramen without adding the flavoring.  after the noodles are soft, throw them in the wok with some garlic powder and olive oil and fry them up.  then throw them in the bowl with enough water to just cover the bottom of the bowl.  throw in the flavoring and mix it up.  perfect.

True. I just wanted to try it. Later tonight I'm making black eyed peas, rice, and chicken wings.

You can't really call it stir-fry if there's no meat and noodles are pretty bad with stir-fry.

These were pretty awesome. I was surprised at the flavor they kept.

You could just cut up sausage and add it

Here's my recipe:

1. Get ramen.
2. Put it in a bowl.
3. Put a pot with water in it on the stove, wait until it starts to boil. Throw some sausages in there.
4. Jack off into a cup, and put half the man juices inside the water.
5. Dump the ramen in there, and a left it soften while stirring so it won't stick.
6. throw in the second half of jizz on there for extra flavor.
7. Finally put some Pace Picante sauce on it.

So I bought some Lo Mein noodles at the supermarket recently.

I guess they're close enough to ramen that I can post about them in this thread.

How can I go about frying them up so they don't get stuck to the pan? I used a nonstick pan last night with oil in it, and I put the noodles in there after I'd boiled them. They still stuck to the pan if I wasn't careful, and they just came out all oily :(

Don't have the heat on too high. And, make sure you use some water in the frying pan. I poured a lot of the ramen water into the frying pan, and just let it slowly evaperate while keeping a close eye on it

The only way to eat ramen is with an egg in it.  Sooooo good.  And soy sauce.

the ramen noodles are usually fried, so they're pretty bad for you too aside from the sodium that's in the sauce packet.

While boiling the ramen, stir a beaten whole egg into it.  You will cum like Theo Huxtable is wearing a thong.

You put it in while it's boiling.  It's good.

Also, Father Mike, the only time you should eat cabbage is if you're about to film some scat.

While the ramen is boiling, beat an egg and put it in the ramen.  Then once it's done boiling, stir for a bit and drain the excess water/liquid.

I haven't done it since college but I think that's it.  Some people like frying an egg and putting it on top of ramen, too.

Sometimes, I like to put in the egg when the ramen is almost done.  The semi raw egg gives the noodles a nice texture.   It's possible to get salmonella though.

whiteman cabbage is good.  it takes on other flavors and has a good texture compared to noodles.

I like miso soup ramen the best...and tantanmen (spicy chili ramen).  Tonkatsu (pork) ramen is good too.

Hmmm...ramen.
