about 1-2 weeks ago an old SC bud of mine was saying sc2 would be announced this year... and since someone is saying it's going to be revealed in korea.... pretty much seals the deal if either rumor is true....

ever since I've played SC I've always said "Once starcraft 2 comes out, I quit life" lol...

but seriously omfg... if it's sc2 i'm going to have a heart attack. it better fucking be the best game ever omg....

and koreans dont care about ghost... plus thats been known for like 2 years

StarCraft Patch 1.15
We will be releasing Patch 1.15 for StarCraft within the next few weeks. This patch introduces new functionality to Battle.net that allows players to organize and join custom StarCraft leagues. this is my favorite game ever, nothing on the planet even COMPARES to starcraft in ANY way. It's the best game ever fucking created and will stand that way forever unless one game can top it............. and thats sc 2.. I'm going crazy, this is awesome!

Starcraft 2 will be announced to the public on May 19th at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitation (WWI).

On April 25th, according to game company Blizzard Korea Entertainment, it is confirmed that they will announce Starcraft 2 demonstrating it with both vods and graphics. Furthermore, the developers of Starcraft 2 will be there, and have time to answer the questions.

Starcraft 2 is being developed in 3D and there will be new race and some specific changes to remaining races. Details of only minor parts will be released at WWI.

Blizzard invited more than hundreds broadcasting teams from around the world for this announcement. Prior to this very secret moment on May 19th, they will not release any information.

However, from the people who worked to blizzard, there is trusted word about this information. Person who recently retired from USA blizzard said there is development of Starcraft 2 and there will be announcement.

The chairman of Blizzard Korea said “we cannot answer anything about Starcraft 2, we will have a new game on 19th so please come and find out”. He refused to answer if new game is starcraft 2.

The shout castor “Um Jae Kyung” said “I expect it to be very balanced but have concerns regarding E-Sports, but I doubt there will be changes about E-sports in regards to Starcraft I. However, there will be most likely be another league for starcraft II and e-sports will be much bigger. Since I’m one of the gamers, I’m very excited about this”.

The 3rd WWI will be on May 19th ~ 20th in Seoul, and it seems there will be a lot taking place

Jesus Christ almighty. I will have a heart attack if it's Starcraft 2. I remember getting the battlechest for my birthday in 1999. Oh man. I'd heard rumors about this elsewhere, but the stuff up there makes me want to believe so much. I still play every now and then. Best balance in an entertaining RTS I've ever seen. <3 P.

Fuck Diablo. All that's left in that game is nostalgia. SC2 SC2 SC2 YES

I remember slaving over Starcraft for endless months. I was lucky to get the game during the summer a long time ago, so me and my brothers would play all day. I was mainly a Zerg guy heh

The korean blizz article said 100% for sure sc2, whereas the "main" blizzard said "we will visit sc2 in the future, we just don't have anything new on it yet"
meaning they want to fuck with us and say "oh well you had to wait until may 19th till we had anything new! pssh ;P

plus... if anyone knows.. it's korea, because where the FUCK do you think they'll be testing the game?

That's great news. I get almost all Blizzard stuff for free from 2 friends that work there. The only thing that I can't get for free is a free WOW account. They both get several free WOW accounts but I don't want to bug them for one since I don't have time to play a MMORPG anyway.

Today, a story was published in the The Korea Times which seems to support the ever-growing mass of rumors surrounding the imminent (and confirmed) game announcement at Blizzard's World Wide Invitational (WWI).

The article yields some more interesting pieces to the puzzle including these comments:

``Blizzard plans to announce StarCraft II at the WWI 2007. It will be different in many ways from the original StarCraft including the number of species,'' said the source who declined to be named.

``We will be sure to take the wraps off a new computer game next week but we cannot say what it would be,'' Blizzard Entertainment Korea spokesperson Jessie Kim said.

Most of the rumors seem to be pointing towards SC2 - as another RTS - rather than the ever frightening rumors of a SC MMO. There's less than 2 weeks left until the WWI and you can be sure SC:L will be covering all the details of that (possibly) historic day. Stay tuned.

I still can't see them announcing another sequel to Warcraft, especially because since Broodwars was released in 97(98?) the Warcraft franchise has seen a new sequel, an expansion for the sequel, an MMORPG that pretty much dominates all other games of it's kind, and an expansion to the MMO as well. That, the constant remarks in passing from Blizzard reps (http://www.pro-g.co.uk/news/15-01-2007-4502-1.html), and this announcement being in Korea makes it all look like Starcraft.

Then again, Blizzard is pretty unpredictable. I just can't see them pulling some shit like this.
