I haven't even see the Godfather. But i did like Apacolypse now.

The way I see it is $50 is alot of money. What would yall do?

virgin suicides was meh, but she earned my love for lost in translation. One of my top 10 films of all time. She is my favorite modern director behind Chris Nolan.

They are all in a club of directors in my mind. Wes Anderson as well should be put in that modern director group. But i liked the virgin suicides damnit. Its one of my unhealthy obsessions on film.

Marie Antoinette was great in the Barry Lyndon style. Both are slow paced, scenery heavy dialouge free history escapism.

FoC, you really should check out the Godfather some time. It's leisurely paced, but overall incredibly worthwhile. Even if you don't like mafia movies and TV shows (all of which are pretty much rips of The Godfather), watching the first movie is like taking a mini-course on the entire genre in the space of a few hours.

I didn't see it until like last year. I didn't consider myself a very big fan of mob movies, so I figured I wasn't missing much. I liked Goodfellas, but that was about it. Then I watched season 1 of the Sopranos, loved it, and mentioned to one of my friends that I had never seen the Godfather. He told me I was missing out on a bunch of references, so I went and watched it. I do not regret it.

The Godfather 2 is also great, but I don't think it is quite as good as the first, and it's a pain to watch in one sitting.

You mean about Lucas rambling about his WWII drama about african americans and racism he has blabbed about doing for 5 years now? He said he is filming it once Indy IV is finished.

I'd say they're about equal, but ROTS has higher highs and lower lows while RotJ really has like ten/fifteen minutes' worth of highs and that's about it.
